KELLY_Russell, late of the Regina area, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the age of 90 years. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert and his wife Isabel and Tom and his wife Ethel; daughterin-law Mary Kelly; sisters-in-law Martha Morris, Kaye Ring and Elsie Jewell (Ulrich); brothers-in-law William Seib, Ernie Hoffman, Phil Ring, Jake Weisbrod, Ed Ulrich, Robert Wagner, Tom Ward, Bob Adams, Carl Petrovicz and Matt Petrowicz. Russ's memory will be cherished by his family; loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy; sons Doug (Lindsay), Lorne (Marion) and Cal (Patty); grandchildren Ryan (Kirby), Patrick, Andrea, Michelle, Aubrey, Tom, Christina, Kevin and Megan; great grandchildren Russell and Johanna. He will be fondly remembered by sisters Irene (Con) Hungle and Vera (Bill) Cairns; sisters-inlaw Eva Seib, Emily (George) Wise, Eula Wagner, Matilda Petrovicz and Elsie Petrowicz; brothers-in-law Jack Morris and Gordon Jewell. Russ spent his life on the family farm north of Regina except for the years with the RCAF during WWII. After the war he chose to become a farmer and was an active member of his community. He served as a member of the North Regina School Board and Bell Rural Telephone Co. He was on the Armour Siding Wheat Pool Committee for thirty years and also served on the District Agricultural Advisory Board. He was chairman of the Board of Stewards at Brora United Church for many years. He belonged to the Canadian Order of Forresters, King Hiram Masonic Lodge, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Russ was a successful farmer who enjoyed the farm life and participated actively in the operations of the farm well into his 80s. His hobby was restoring antique cars. This led to an active and fulfilling participation in the Studebaker Club, of which he was a founding member, and the Antique Auto Club of Regina, for which he and Dot hosted a fall rally called "Kelly's Kapers" for 36 consecutive years. A CELEBRATION OF RUSS'S LIFE will be held at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing may make donations in Russ's memory to the Brora United Church Memorial Fund c/o Brora United Church, Box 12, RR#1, Regina, SK.
